Computer
Engineering is one of the fastest evolving disciplines
in our technological society. The developments
in computer engineering have significantly enhanced
the standard of our living. The field bridges
the gap between computer science and electronic
engineering with both software and hardware applications.
It emphasizes the design, analysis and implementation
of computer systems.
The department of Computer Engineering is among
the newest departments at university of Bahrain.
Currently, there are 700 undergraduate students
joining the department. The department offers
an undergraduate degree program - Bachelor of
Science in Computer Engineering as well as a 2-years
Diploma program in computer Engineering.
The Department of Computer Engineering's faculty
and staff are committed to continuous improvement
of our program to provide our students with high
quality education, as well as personal and professional
growth experiences. We strive to prepare our students
for employment or advanced studies in computer
engineering field through a rigorous and comprehensive
curriculum, which is associated with numerous
practical laboratory courses, summer training
program and a senior project design experience.
We have a team of experienced and well-qualified
faculty in our department. Currently, the department
is preparing for accreditation by ABET under the
EC 2000 criteria.
