The
Computer Engineering program at university of
Bahrain has been designed to put the student in
the high-demand computer market with the potential
for good career growth. The program focuses on
the design, analysis and application of computers
as well as on their applications as components
in systems. It bridges and overlaps with Computer
Science on one end (software systems) and with
Electronic Engineering on the other (digital hardware
systems).
The primary goal of the program is to provide
students with a solid education in the engineering
of computer systems. This includes an understanding
of both hardware and software issues, as well
as their interactions.
The courses offered by the department can be divided
into four specialized tracks:
-
Digital Systems
-
Computer Hardware and Interfacing
- Computer
Networks
- Computer
Applications.
Students
graduating with the Bachelor of Science in Computer
Engineering will be able to understand the technical
issues, evaluate the trade-offs, and optimize
the design of computer systems taking into consideration
the capabilities of both the hardware and software.
Training is provided through a variety of courses
in computer engineering; through a rigorous and
comprehensive curriculum, which is associated
with numerous practical laboratory courses, through
the summer training program and through involvement
in complete system development projects.
The Computer Engineering Program is intended for
well-qualified, highly- motivated students who
desire to study across the spectrum of both computer
hardware and software.
