About the Deanship of Scientific Research
The Deanship of Scientific Research was established in December 1995, with the aim of promoting and stimulating scientific research at University of Bahrain, as well as coordinating contractual research undertaken by the University for the Government, industry and other organizations in and outside the kingdom of Bahrain.
The deanship comprises of the following units:
The Deanship is also responsible for organizing university research through a scientific research committee, which comprises of representatives of each college.
In order to take full advantage of the technical and scientific developments in the developed world, the deanship is in contact with leading research centers and industrial establishments of the world to facilitate the transfer of modern technology and scientific knowledge to Bahrain.
Deanship Vision
The Deanship of Scientific Research at the University of Bahrain is seeking to be a pioneer in the field of scientific research, which contributes in carrying out the development, and to strengthen the relation between the university and society, and to exploit the talents and the scientific abilities.
Deanship Mission
The Deanship of Scientific Research at the University of Bahrain is working on the dissemination of the scientific research culture, concentrating on its values, developing it’s skills, preparation of the appropriate atmosphere, utilizing the human, social and environmental resources.
Deanship Objectives
The Deanship of Scientific Research aims to fulfill the following objectives:
- Increase the value of scientific research among the university staff, students and some of the executives and policy makers in governmental and private sectors.
- Enable the university staff and students to master the scientific research skills, each in his/her field of specialization.
- Facilitate the scientific research processes to the university staff and students.
- Facilitate the publication processes to the university staff.
- Coordinate the research efforts between the Deanship of Scientific Research and other colleges at the university and their research centers.
- Create some scientific partnership between the Deanship of Scientific Research and other scientific research centers or organizations outside the university on the local, regional, Arabic and international levels.
- Build a dynamic relation between the Deanship of Scientific Research and other local society organizations.
- Increase the income of the Deanship of Scientific Research in order to decrease the dependence on the University for funding the scientific research.
- Increase the level of contractual research.
Procedures
- Conduct research and studies with other research organizations outside the university.
- Organized and coordinate the contractual research at the university.
- Support and organize scientific research at the colleges of the university, which is of direct benefit to the university and society.
- Solving problems related to development projects and industry in the kingdom of Bahrain and the region.
- Offering scientific consultation for private and government organizations.
- Cooperate with the national, regional and international research centers.
- Support research publications, invention registration for the university staff on the international level.
- Show the local, private and governmental organizations, the latest international development in their fields of work.
- Conduct workshops, seminars and conferences in the field of scientific research.
