General Requirements of Admission:


  1. Applicants must hold a secondary school certificate or its equivalent with a minimum cumulative GPA of 70%
  2. Applicants must have received the secondary school certificate or its equivalent within two previous years.
  3. Applicants must not be enrolled in any other higher education institution in case of admission to UOB.
  4. Students who have graduated or have been expelled from UOB are not allowed to reregister in the same program.
  5. Admission applies only to the semester for which the student has been admitted.
  6. Applicants must be physically fit.
  7. Applicants must be of good conduct.
  8. Applicants must fulfill other requirements set by competent bodies.

Important Instructions:


  1. The selection and order of programmes should correspond with the type of general secondary school certificate (literature, science, commercial, industry, unified tracks) and colleges allocated to each of them.
  2. Admission to academic programs is granted a competitive basis, based on the following criteria:
    • Fulfillment of admission requirements
    • Capacity of academic programs
  3. It is also an admission requirement that students pass the tests and/or interviews conducted by colleges, in accordance with admission requirements in some programs (if applicable).
  4. Students should have a good command of language of institution they wish to enroll in. 5. Kindly visit the University of Bahrain website www.uob.edu.bh to check the admission requirement, view detailed study plans, and all academic programs offered this year along with their mediums of instruction.

Exemption From Orientation Program


To be exempted from the orientation program you need to fulfill one of the following conditions:

  • Achieve a 90% or higher average grade in the General Secondary School Certificate.
  • Achieve an English language grade of 90% or higher in the General Secondary School.
  • Obtain a minimum score of 500 in TOEFL or 5.5 in IELTS.

Important Notes

  1. The date for announcing admission results will be posted on the university website and the official social media accounts of the University of Bahrain (uobedubh). Admission results will be published on the Student Information System website sis.uob.edu.bh
  2. The admission of the students is being done only one time in the first semester of each academic year.
  3. Admission applies only to the semester for which the student has been admitted.

  2. Key Instructions:
    1. Due to the current situation of Covid-19, the General Aptitude Tests and interviews, which are held annually, will be cancelled exceptionally for the academic year (2020-2021). Therefore, admission is based on competitive high school GPA or equivalent percentages.
    2. Private school students will be able to apply through the Student Information System website (sis.uob.edu.bh). Kindly provide the required documents, and complete the application process online according to the following:
      •  A colored photograph.
      •  A valid passport, or proof of renewal in case of expiration). As per non-Bahraini students, kindly provide valid residency documents, or proof of renewal.
      •  ID card.
      •  Graduation certificate and transcript of high school, or equivalent
      •  Admission non-refundable fee (BD 10/-)
    3. Students from outside the Kingdom of Bahrain may apply during the third period (22-26 July 2020) through the Student Information System website (sis.uob.edu.bh). Kindly provide the required documents as mentioned in point (b) above.
      Note: Applying for undergraduate studies at the University of Bahrain does not mean the student is accepted. Students will be notified of their application status through the same website upon the end of the application period and after thorough review of applications by the Admission and Alumni Affairs Department as per UoB rules and regulations.
    4.  During the application period, students can change their program preferences, as follows:
      •  For public school students through the Information and E-Government Authority website (bahrain.bh).
      •  For private school students or overseas school students through the Student Information System website (sis.uob.edu.bh). Students can also upload their documents or edit their information at any time during the application period.
