Purchase department considered as one of important departments classified under the vice president of finance and administration affaires and its essential department in this educational edifice of our beloved Kingdom.

It is known that the Purchase department has a big Role in building and establishing services, which present for all academy faculties, administrative departments and educational centers.

The purchase department divided into 3 sections, which are:

  • Coordination and follow up section
  • Purchasing section
  • Tender and contract section
    1. Follow-up and coordination section

      This section holds the purchase requisitions from the beneficiary and making sure of validated or any lost information as well of the signing of either by the dean or director, and then it is converted to the purchase section to start purchase process. Some of the purchase requisitions could be rejected and would be notified the requested person.

      This section is spread over three units as follows:

      • Deans and humanity unit
      • Scientific and technical unit
      • Administrative departments unit

  1. Issuing purchase orders after selecting the appropriate quotation for office services such as (computers, projectors).
  2. Issuing purchase orders for travel ticket for the members of university of Bahrain.
  3. Issuing Purchase orders after selecting the appropriate quotation for scientific materials and learning laboratory for the university, based on purchase requisitions issued by the college.
  4. Issuing Purchase orders after selecting the appropriate quotation for textbooks, based on the needs of the textbooks office.
  5. Issuing Purchase orders for newspapers for managers and deans of the university, based on purchase requisitions issued by them.
  6. Issuing Purchase orders for hospitality for all university departments.
  7. Issuing Purchase orders to provide the necessary materials for building maintenance according to requisition Issued by Buildings and Maintenance Department.
  8. Issuing appropriate tenders and necessary contracts for building maintenance contracts, and devices needed for teaching and other necessary contracts to provide an appropriate environment for student in University.
