Assistant Professor

Dr. Dana Abdulrahim is an Assistant Professor of Linguistics. She has a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Alberta, 2013; MA in Applied English Language Studies from the University of Bahrain, 2006; BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Bahrain, 2002. She has a diverse research profile spanning cognitive linguistics, corpus linguistics, and computational linguistics. She has attended and presented at multiple regional and international conferences; has publications in journals and books; and serves as a regular reviewer of research papers for journals and conferences. She is currently working on a research project aiming to document Bahraini Arabic, as well as being a member of international research groups that aim to develop resources for Arabic dialect computational modelling as well as create a conventional orthography for the spoken dialects in the Arab world.
