The Emergency Nursing Program is one of the newest specialty program at the College of Health Sciences with 37-credit hours. It was developed back in 2001 based on an assessment need in the kingdom and the GCC region. It was developed by different specialists in the field, and is currently the only one in the region.

This Program was designed with a holistic approach, to experience professional roles as varied as your interests in different clinical settings at the Emergency Department (Triage Room, Resuscitation Room, Minor Theater, Trauma, Pediatric, Medical Surgical, and Burns) and to manage the entire spectrum of emergency cases. The students also build competencies in clinical theory and research-based nursing practice, putting new skills to use in delivering direct patient care, organizing resources while controlling costs, and educating nurses to improve healthcare delivery in the Emergency Department.

The Program aims to expand the limits of student knowledge and enable them to explore innovative approaches using the latest technology with competence in providing safe nursing care to all clients of different age groups.

Over the years, the Program has achieved success, and our graduates have taken up leadership positions in many Emergency Departments in the Kingdom and have gone on to pursue graduate studies at some of the best universities in the world.
