The Information Systems disciplines centers around using ICT to efficiently and effectively enhance the performance of individuals and organizations in their work. Information Systems Professionals will be involved in not only in designing and developing systems but also in understanding business processes and requirements to enhance and develop these systems.

Muain Aljamlan received his M.Ed. Degree in Educational Technology from University of Bath, UK in 1978. He completed his PhD in Educational Technology from University of Hull, UK in 1981. He worked as director of educational technology center at King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia. Then he moved to University of Bahrain in 1983 to work at the university where he held several positions, and taught in different colleges. He was promoted to associate professor and full professor at the university of Bahrain. His teaching and research interest include educational and information technology, e-learning, instructional design, information resources management.

Dr. Ahmad Mashhour

Dr. Mazen Mohammed Ali

Dr. Mazen Mohamed Ahmed Abdulla Ali is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Systems, College of Information Technology, the University of Bahrain, Kingdom of Bahrain. He completed his MSc in 2006 and PhD in 2010 in Information Systems from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Prior to that, he obtained his BSc in Business Information Systems from the Department of Information Systems, University of Bahrain. Dr. Ali serves as a board member in Bahrain Information Technology Society (BITS) and ISACA Bahrain Chapter, a non-profit association with over 100,000 members worldwide and more than 300 members in Bahrain dedicated to the audit, control, and security of Information Systems. In 2010, Dr. Ali received the best paper award at ACIS held in Brisbane, Australia for his scientific research. He has many refereed publications in leading international conference proceedings including HICSS, ACIS, European and Mediterranean Conference on Information Systems (EMCIS) and ICTM. His work has been also published in a variety of international journals including JIT and IJEC.

Dr. Bushager has been selected as a representative of Scientific Bahraini Women by the US Embassy in Bahrain and participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program on “WISE- Women’s Innovations in Science and Engineering” in USA. She was honored in the 5th International E-Learning Conference for winning the General Secretariat Award for the Design and Development of e-Courses at the Universities Level in the Gulf Cooperation Council in 2015. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in the UK and a professional member in many associations such as: The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE, Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Association for Information Systems (AIS), etc.

Dr. Maan Mubarak Aljawder

Dr. Maan Aljawder received his Master’s Degree in IT Management from the University of Sydney in Australia in 2007 and completed his Ph.D. in Information Systems at the same university in 2015. Moreover, Dr. Aljawder had an extensive experience extends to over 16 years in the business and academic field. He is a certified Enterprise IT process capability assessor (COBIT 5 Assessor).

Dr. Aljawder has held several professional positions in accounting and IT where he was involved in several multidisciplinary projects of developing and implementing process workflows and financial systems. He has also presided over and been a member of several scientific and management committees at different levels.

He is a fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and is the founder and director of the Smart Cities Research Group (SCRG) under the College of Information Technology where he works with several teams on interdisciplinary projects related to Smart City and Sustainability. He is also an active member in other research groups and committees conducting nation-wide research projects with the Information and eGovernment Authority (IGA). Dr. Aljawder had several reviewing and participation in local and international conferences.

His teaching and research interest in Smart Cities, IS Project Management, IT Strategy, Enterprise Systems, and Business Intelligence.

His teaching and research interest in Management Information System, E-Business and Electronic Commerce, Knowledge Management, Customer Relationship Management, Financial Information Systems, IS Project Management, IT Strategy, Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and E-Marketing.

Prior to join the University of Bahrain in 2018, He was a Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at University of Fujairah, Dean of the College of Information Technology at Ajman University in United Arab Emirates, and Advisor to the President at Amman Arab University, Jordan.

He has supervised 10+ successful PhD graduates and supervised 26+ MSc thesis. Dr. Alryalat has 50+ technical peer-reviewed papers in top quality journals and international conferences. Dr. Alryalat also has substantial industry experience having been a general Manager of Center for Banking and Financial Consultancy at the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences.

Her areas of interest is using information technology in Education and Management Information system such as modern system development, security and collaborative groupware. Dr. Hussain Al-Arrayed

Hussain Mohsen Al-Arayedh obtained his B.Sc. in Computer Science from the College of Information Technology in the University of Bahrain, followed by his M.Sc. in Distributed Systems Engineering from the School of Computing and Communications in Lancaster University, UK. He also obtained the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP) in 2007 and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in the UK. Hussain completed his Ph.D. in 2017 in Information Systems from the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) in the University of Manchester, UK.

In 2018, Hussain became an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Solutions Architect Associate in the field of Cloud Computing and is a member of AWS Academy.

Hussain is member of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). His research interests include Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Websites and Web applications development, in addition to Cloud Computing.

Dr. Noora H. Alghatam

Noora Alghatam obtained her PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She received her MSc. in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems (ADMIS) from LSE. Her research interests are in the areas of ICT project implementation in the public sector, global formats for e-government and institutional change. She is currently researching ICT use and institutional change in public health organizations. Her teaching experience includes Masters courses on ICT in the public sector and management of IS (at LSE) and similar topics for undergraduates at UOB. She has participated in ECIS, AMCIS and the HCC10 (IFIP WG 9) conferences.

Jaflah Hassan Al-Ammary is the assistant professor in the Department of Information Systems in the College of IT at the University of Bahrain. She holds PhD from the University of Murdoch (Australia). Al-Ammary’s research interest focuses on IS strategies and Applications focus more on Strategic alignment, Knowledge Management, and educational technology and E-learning. Al-Ammary has many publications on KM-strategic alignment and the strategic role of the Information systems and SISP at the organization of Bahrain. On the other hand, she has conducted number of researches to examine the importance of the educational technology (such as blackboard and Online Collaboration Learning) on enhancing the learning and teaching process at Kingdom of Bahrain.
