Mathematics B.Sc.
Graduates of the B.Sc. in Mathematics program will be prepared to:

  • Work successfully in a career related to mathematics.
  • Enter a graduate program in mathematics or a related field.

Mathematics M.Sc.
Graduates of the M.Sc. in Mathematics program will be prepared to:


  • To provide students with advanced mathematical knowledge and skills that prepare them to pursue further studies and conduct research.
  • To provide students with strong knowledge in advanced pure mathematical concepts and research.
  • To provide students with knowledge and capability in formulating and analyzing mathematical models of real life applications.
  • To familiarize students with the latest advances in applied mathematics such as numerical computations and mathematical modelling in physical sciences.
  • To enhance students’ abilities in using technology efficiently for conducting research and in their professional practices.
  • To increase students self-confidence in conducting research independently or within a team.
  • To fulfill Ministry of Education needs of highly skilled and knowledgeable teachers in mathematics.
Mathematics B.Sc.
Upon graduation, an UOB graduate in mathematics should be able to:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of core areas of mathematics and statistics.
  • Use logical reasoning, formal proof, generalization and abstraction.
  • Apply mathematics to real life problems by formulating and solving them and interpreting their solutions.
  • Employ different mathematical concepts in solving a wide range of problems within mathematics.
  • Identify the relationship between mathematics and other disciplines.
  • Communicate mathematical information in oral and written forms.
  •  Integrate technology in solving and understanding mathematical problems.
  • Understand ethics and responsibilities within professional practices.

Mathematics M.Sc.
Upon graduation, an UOB graduate in mathematics should be able to:

  • Acquire deep knowledge of different mathematical disciplines.

  • Demonstrate competence in using mathematical skills to model, formulate and solve real life problems.
