Prof. Alnaser is the Vice President for Academic Programs and Higher Studies, UoB. He is the President of Middle East region of the International Solar Energy Society and Chairman of Bahrain Astronomical Society. He authored and co-authored more than 120 journal scientific papers and wrote 40 books in Physics, Astronomy, Renewable Energy, Environment and Traffic Physics. He is the founder of (JAAUBAS) and the General Secretary for Arab Renewable Energy Association. His area of expertise is in Material Physics, particularly the ultrasonic attenuation in metals at low and room temperatures; Renewable Energy, Astronomy and Astrophysics; Environmental Physics.

Prof. Mohamed El-Hilo

Dr. El-Hilo is the Dean of Science College and acting Dean of Health Science College. He has more than 20 years of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience. He held many positions, including Assistant Professor at Al-Bayt University, Jordan and Senior Researcher at University of Wales, UK. Dr. El-Hilo has 24 years research experience, in theory, modelling and experimental work in nonmagnetic particle systems. He is an author and co-author of more than 80 journal scientific papers. Dr. El-Hilo is the Editorial Secretary of the Journal of the Association of Arab Universities for Basic and Applied Science (JAAUBAS) and the Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Spintronic and Magnetic Nanomaterials (JSMN).

Dr. Akel Dakhel

Dr. Dakhel has taught at Department of Physics at both Garyounis University and Constantine University. He is an author and co-author of more than 133 journal scientific papers and wrote 7 University level books. He has 35 years teaching experience and more than 40 years research experience in Solid State Physics. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Thin Films Science and Technology (IJTFST); Editorial member of Advances in Alloys and Compounds (AAC). Dr Dakhel area of expertise is in Solid State Physics, Thin Solid Films, Material Science and Characterization: Electrical, Optical, Magnetic. Transparent Conducting Oxides (TCO), Doping of Materials for the creation of new properties.

Dr. Mohamed Yousif

Dr. Yousif has taught at the University of Mosul in Iraq and University of Sana’a in Yemen. He has 20 years teaching experience and 24 years research experience in Elementary Particle Theory. He is a co-author of more than 20 refereed journal scientific papers, organized and participated in many workshops in Bahrain and outside. Research visitor at CERN, 2010, ICTP (Italy), 2007 and IPPP (UK), 2002. His area of expertise and research is in QCD corrections to gauge boson production, multiple proton scattering, Weak gauge boson production, Higgs boson phenomenology, Nucleon charge structure.

Dr. Mahmood Nasser

Dr. Nasser worked as a Researcher in Nippon Sheet Glass Company and as an Associate Researcher at Saga University in Japan. He has 19 years research experience in experimental work in plasma physics and application and an author of 4 refereed journal scientific papers and more than 25 as conference proceeding. In 2000 Dr. Nasser received the Young scientist prize from the Japan Society of Applied Physics. His area of expertise are; Plasma electronics, which include plasma diagnostics and development of plasma source devices, Plasma physics that might lead to the next generation of optical and electronic devices (nanotechnology) and Medical Plasma application such as sterilization.

Dr. Khalil Ebrahim Jasim

Dr. Jasim was a Coordinator of the Central Research Labs at the College of Science, UoB. He has more than 15 years of experience in teaching and participated and organized many workshops and conducted many general scientific public talks and open day activities. He reported the operation of the “Passively mode-locked vertical extended cavity surface emitting diode laser VECSEL” which is anticipated to play a major role in all optical photonic computers. Dr. Jasim’s area of expertise is in Optical and electrical characterization of laser materials (Semiconductor); Fabrication and testing of optoelectronic devices, Nanotechnology (Photovoltaic novel devices); Growth of nanostructures; Nonlinear optics.

Dr. Mohamed Alothman

Dr. Alothman has more than 16 years teaching experience and held the position of Chairperson of Department of Physics. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the National Space Science Authority, a member of the Higher Committee for the Bahraini Calendar, Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs, member of Bahrain Astronomy Society and member of the Board of Directors. His area of expertise is in Magnetospheric Physics, High Latitude Trapping Boundary of the Radiation Belt, Modeling Magnetospheric Populations, Analysis of Spacecraft Measurement of Magnetospheric Particles, Magnetospheric Magnetic Field Modeling.

Dr. Walid J. Azzam

Dr. Azzam has taught at Stanford University and the UAE University. He has 25 years of teaching experience and 30 years of research experience in high-energy astrophysics (gamma-ray bursts). He is an author and co-author of more than 40 scientific research papers. Dr. Azzam has organized more than 20 workshops on astronomy and space science. He is a full member of the American Astronomical Society and a member of the Board of Directors for the Bahrain Astronomical Society. Dr. Azzam's area of expertise is in the theoretical modeling of gamma-ray bursts and the utilization of gamma-ray burst luminosity indicators in probing cosmological models.

Dr. Hanan Albuflasa

Dr. Albuflasa was a Senior Gemologist at Bahrain Pearl and Gemology Laboratory and currently she is an Assistant Professor at Department of Physics, University of Bahrain. She is a member of the National Standard Committee on Renewable Energy and Energy Storage System and Bahrain Representative in GCC committee. She is an author and co-author of a number of journal and conference scientific papers. Dr. Albuflasa organized and delivered a number of workshops, talks at a national level. Her research area focuses on Renewable Energy Systems Characterization and Resource Assessment, Power System, Environmental Physics.

Dr. Abdulmonem Alshino

Dr. Alshino has a wide interest in astronomy and cosmology. His research focuses on galaxy clusters formation and evolution. He participated in several international scientific research projects including European Space Agency (ESA) XMM Extragalactic Survey project, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Chandra Observatory projects. He is a consortium member of the Extragalactic observation program of the space mission, XXL, ESA. He is a member of Royal Astronomical Society (RAS), UK, American Astronomical Society (AAS), USA and Institute of Physics (IOP), UK. He has several scientific publications including the book: “Studies on intra-cluster medium and galaxy colours across cosmic time”

Dr. Jawad Alsaei

Dr. Alsaei has a PhD in condensed matter theory and theory and simulation of materials. His area of interest is to study and predict materials properties and functions by means of ab-initio density functional theory calculations and atomistic simulations, with a special interest in ferroelectric oxides. Other interests include Metropolis Monte Carlo simulations of magnetic nanoparticles, and multi-scale modeling. Dr. Alsaei has contributions in a number of scientific conferences and workshops. He also published several papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Mrs. Basma Al-Najar

Dr. Hasaan Mannaa

Dr Karim Ben Messai

An assistant professor at the Department of Physics, University of Bahrain. Karim has a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences and M.Sc in Electronics and Optics from the Université de Franche-Comté, Besançon, France. His Ph.D. work was related to the development of ultra-stable frequency sources in the microwave domain: X, Ku, K and Ka bands. In 2010, he was appointed a three years position, as an Australian Postdoctoral Fellow, within the Frequency Standard and Metrology group in the Physics Department at the University of Western Australia. Then, he worked two years at the Centre de Développement des Technologies Avancées, Algiers, Algeria, doing research activities in optics and photonics. In 2015, he joined the Ecole Supérieur de Technologies Industrielles at Annaba, Algeria, teaching electronics electrical Engineering and renewable energies.

Dr. Adnan Younis

An Assistant Professor of Physics within Physics department of University of Bahrain. Dr. Younis has PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from University of New South Wales Sydney Australia. After his PhD, he had been working at UNSW for several years before joining UOB. His field of research is development of nanomaterials and their applications in electronic devices, clean energy storage devices and for wastewater treatment. He has published over 50 journal papers and several book chapters in high impact peer reviewed journals. He is in Editorial board of several high impact journals.

Dr Nabil Mohamed

He is an associate professor of Radiation Physics at the Physics Department, Faculty of Science. Dr Nabil received the B.Sc. in Physics, from University of Zagazig, Egypt (1999), the M.Sc. degree in Radiation Physics from University of Zagazig, Egypt (2004), and the Ph.D. from University of Tokyo metropolitan, Tokyo, Japan, (2011). He gets a post-doctor at Graduate School of Maritime Sciences, University of Kobe, Kobe, Japan (2012-2013) in a project of enhancement of physical and chemical properties of polymer using ionizing radiation. He also gets a contract post-doctor for two years (2016-2018) at the Department of Natural Radiation Safety, Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS), Daejeon, Republic of Korea.
