Lecture at UoB to shed light on Unified Arab Catalogue

 


SAKHIR, JUN 5, 2008 – The Arab Unified Catalogue project, a unique project that offers a vast list of books and references of all fields published in Arabic language, will be highlighted in a lecture to be held at University of Bahrain (UoB)’s Sakhir campus on Wednesday, 11th June, 2008.

Organized by UoB Library and Information Services in cooperation with the Bahrain Library Association, the lecture will be conducted by the director of the Arab Unified Catalogue Centre in Saudi Arabia Dr Salah Al Musnid.

Dr Al Musnid will discuss the stages of this important project and the timetable for its implementation. Once completed, this project will offer researches and libraries around the world an essential and unique tool of database incorporating all Arabic books.

“Any researcher anywhere in the world, would be able to access the catalogue online and find unique published materials in his/her subject,” said the UoB director of Library and Information services Hadi Al Talbi.

“The Arab Unified Catalogue lecture will be delivered in Arabic and will take place at Hall no. 50-14 at UoB’s Sakhir campus,” he added.

“All librarians and information specialists are welcome to attend”
