Objectives

The Energy Research Center at the Deanship of Scientific Research
was established in 1996 to promote, organize and coordinate applied research and studies related to development of various energy sources, conventional energy conservation and renewable energy development and utilization.

Within this mandate the center's focus is on the following:

1.   Contractual applied research in collaboration with various departments and colleges of the University of Bahrain.

2.   Technology transfer for strengthening the industrial and domestic sectors.

3.   Professional services to solve energy related problems in collaboration with industry, business and government in Bahrain and other Gulf States.

4.   Promotion of research projects in different energy fields to enhance the efficiency of the available energy sources

5.   Assessment evaluation and development of renewable energy for the industrial and public sector in Bahrain and the region.

6.   Organization and coordination of workshops, symposia and conferences related to various energy issues.
