UOB Honors Students Winning Competitions in Quran Recitation, Tajweed, Short Story, and Arabic Poetry
The Deanship of Student Affairs at the University of Bahrain celebrated and honored the students who won first place in the third “Bayan” competition for the recitation and melodious reading (Tajweed) of the Holy Quran, as well as the short story writing and Arabic poetry writing competitions for the year 2025.
These initiatives also seek to invest students’ time in beneficial and fruitful pursuits, highlighting the talented energies that reflect the cultural and intellectual level of the university’s students. This aligns with the Deanship of Student Affairs’ mission to nurture creativity and strengthen the cultural identity of the university youth, as well as to discover and refine students’ literary talents and enhance their ability for self-expression and the articulation of ideas through an elevated linguistic style.
During the ceremony, the following students who won first places in the third “Bayan” competition were honored: In the Quran Recitation and Tajweed competition (Male): Mohammed Mutee Saeed, Qais Khaled Hilmi, and Abdulrahman Mohammed Muhaib. In the Quran Recitation and Tajweed competition (Female): Maryam Mohammed Azzam, Asma Rashid Salim, and Zainab Nabeel Al-Baloushi.
Furthermore, the winners of the first places in the short story writing competition were announced and honored. They are: Maryam Ali Mohammed, Zahra Sayed Ahmed Yusuf, and Mohammed Abdullah Al-Sheikh.
In addition, the two students Hussain Abdali Abu Suhail and Hussain Taher Al-Aradi were honored after being announced as the first and second place winners in the Arabic poetry writing competition.
