The University of Bahrain organized the “UoB Campus Sustainability Challenge” on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, bringing together 11 student teams from various engineering disciplines. The competition aimed to encourage students to develop practical, sustainable solutions to environmental challenges on campus while strengthening their engineering design, leadership, and teamwork skills.
The three-day competition was organized by the College of Engineering Student Society in collaboration with the College of Engineering and the Deanship of Student Affairs, under the supervision of Dr. Nuha Jamal Al Zayani, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering.
Six teams advanced to the final round, presenting innovative engineering solutions that considered resource efficiency, operating costs, and suitability for Bahrain’s climate. Their proposals were evaluated by a panel of academics representing various engineering disciplines.
The competition concluded with the recognition of the top three teams, along with awards for Best Presentation and Outstanding Contributions across different engineering disciplines. All participating students also received certificates of participation.
