University of Bahrain’s Community Service Center Trains GPIC Employees

Dr. Haya bint Ali Al Nuaimi, Vice President of the University of Bahrain for Community Service and Alumni Affairs, announced that the university’s Community Service and Continuing Education Center will hold a training course in collaboration with the Leadership and Learning Academy at the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC). The course, titled “Manufacturing Operations,” will run from May 23–26 at the GPIC Academy headquarters.

The course aims to equip participants with both scientific and practical skills in manufacturing operations and provide them with up-to-date knowledge in the field. The program will be led by Dr. Mohammed Abu Aish and Dr. Osama Al Jamal, both Assistant Professors at the College of Engineering. Ten employees from various departments at GPIC will benefit from the training.

Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized that the Community Service and Continuing Education Center continues to provide both public and private sector institutions with the latest scientific trends, administrative and operational skills, and best practices. This is done through innovative workshops and training programs tailored to labor market needs.

She also announced a second training course organized in cooperation with the Department of Chemical Engineering at the university. The course, titled “Chemical Engineering for Non-Chemical Engineers and Operators,” is designed to provide participants with scientific knowledge and practical experience in the field of chemical engineering, aiming to raise professional competency among workers.

This course will be taught by a team of distinguished professors, including Prof. Al-Ameen Al-Kinzi, Prof. Nader Al-Bastaki, Prof. Abdulrahim Abbas, Dr. Hosni Al-Zubair, Dr. Shaker Haji, and Dr. Omar Al-Abbasi. It will take place from May 30 to June 2 at the GPIC Leadership and Learning Academy, with 20 trainees already enrolled.
