UoB Launches Master’s Program in Real Estate Development and Property Management

The University of Bahrain has announced the launch of its new Master’s Program in Real Estate Development and Property Management, with the first cohort of students beginning their studies in September 2021. This groundbreaking program – the first of its kind in the Kingdom – is offered through a unique collaboration between the College of Business Administration’s Departments of Economics and Finance and the College of Engineering’s Department of Architecture and Interior Design.
The program has been designed to: establish leadership in real estate education and knowledge dissemination, highlight Bahrain’s national identity while fostering community engagement, advance professional standards through rigorous academic training, and provide comprehensive scientific material covering: land planning and development, real estate laws and regulations, marketing and valuation sciences, and property management.
Dr. Shaikha Haifa bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Head of the Architecture and Interior Design Department, noted that the program specifically targets practicing architects, real estate and investment professionals seeking career advancement, as well as individuals entering the real estate and investment sectors. “The program uniquely integrates urban planning knowledge with economics, investment, and finance,” Dr. Al Khalifa emphasized.
Dr. Hana Saeed Bawazir, Head of the Economics and Finance Department, highlighted the significance of this interdisciplinary collaboration – a first at UoB. “This program aligns perfectly with Bahrain’s sustainable development strategy and meets critical labor market needs,” she stated, noting plans for cooperation with government real estate development agencies.
Developed in response to Bahrain’s urban renaissance, the program prepares graduates for diverse career paths including: banking and government sector roles, real estate finance, property management and development, real estate investment.
The curriculum specifically addresses the growing demand for professionals skilled in real estate valuation, analytical market studies, and current and future market assessment.
This innovative program represents UOB’s commitment to providing advanced, market-relevant education that supports Bahrain’s economic development goals.
