UOB Staff Link Classrooms to the Labor Market

University of Bahrain (UOB) staff learned successful teaching practices to help faculty connect classrooms with the local and global labor market. The training came during a workshop titled “21st Century Skills: Linking Classrooms to the Market”.

The workshop, attended by the university’s academic and administrative staff, was divided into two sections: A section that reviewed real-life issues facing students, and a section that presented seven tips for connecting students to the labor market. Participants were also able to create tailored incentives that encourage students to interact with the labor market effectively, by presenting the advantages and challenges that students face in the classroom when connecting with the labor market.

Dr. Hajar Kadhem Mahfouz, Senior Lecturer in the Department of English Language at the College of Arts at the University of Bahrain presented the workshop, which was organized by the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership and held.
