Social Marketing Students Showcase Bahraini Folklore

Students of the Social Marketing course showcased a group of works inspired by Bahraini folklore during an exhibition organized by the Public Relations Program at the Department of Media at the College of Arts on Monday, titled “Tabashir”.
Tabashir aims to promote environmental awareness and national identity through innovative initiatives that blend Bahraini heritage and sustainability, encourage generations to live a lifestyle that combines authenticity and responsibility, and encourage youth to participate in heritage activities that promote health and environmental awareness.
Dr. Laiyla Hasan Al-Saqer, professor of the social marketing course, supervised the exhibition which included targeted student campaigns, including: “Zahwa” encourages the use of natural materials in decorations, as alternatives to manufactured products, to preserve the environment and Bahraini identity. The “Reef” revives therapeutic home farming by cultivating Bahraini herbs and plants to promote mental and physical health and link it to the folklore. The “Bar’rad”, rediscovers traditional means of cooling as part of a sustainable lifestyle that reduces dependence on air conditioners and preserves the environment. In addition to the “Maw’wal” campaign, highlights the aesthetics and stories of Bahrain’s musical heritage and enhance its presence in the consciousness of generations, as a pillar of national identity and pride in local culture.
