UOB Science Students’ Projects Address Environmental and Health Challenges Using New Technologies

Students from the College of Science at the University of Bahrain developed a number of research and applied projects that aim to address modern environmental, health and agricultural issues, as part of the graduation projects exhibition for the second semester of the academic year 2024/2025, organized by the college on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the university’s headquarters in Sakhir.

The students’ projects focused on multiple areas including enhancing agricultural production, protecting the marine environment, tackling antibiotic resistance, improving public health, and eco-friendly technology, as well as using modern techniques in statistical analysis, data science, and optical physics.

The exhibition showcased 48 projects, prepared by students from the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. The projects were characterized by their close connection to community needs and practical applications that reflect modern research trends in areas such as environmental and medical chemistry, nanotechnology, atomic and molecular physics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Dr. Ali Salman Ali, Dean of the College of Science, honored the projects that won the top places for the best projects submitted in the four departments, in the presence of a number the college’s academic staff.

The projects were evaluated by a committee composed of college faculty members, following unified evaluation criteria.
