UOB Engineering Students Showcase Innovative Designs for “Diyar Al Muharraq”

Students from the College of Engineering at the University of Bahrain developed a series of realistic design projects in collaboration with Diyar Al Muharraq, aimed at enhancing the skills of students from the Architecture and Interior Design programs.

Among 158 student submissions, Architecture student Abrar Bu Ali and Interior Architecture student Zahra Mohammed were selected as winners. The top three projects from each program were presented to representatives of Diyar Al Muharraq, who provided feedback and nominated the winners. Both students, along with the other shortlisted participants, were honored and received gifts from the company.

is part of this collaboration, third-year Architecture students were tasked with designing a mosque that includes a learning space, commercial facilities, and parking areas within a Diyar Al Muharraq site. Meanwhile, second-year Interior Architecture students were challenged to design a restaurant in the Al Naseem residential community in Diyar Al Muharraq, drawing inspiration from the culture of a country of their choice.

Representatives of Diyar Al Muharraq praised the students’ creativity and outstanding design skills, while the students expressed their appreciation for the valuable hands-on experience gained through their participation in the project.
