University of Bahrain Staff Train on the GFO

Several academic and administrative staff members from the University of Bahrain participated on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) in an interactive awareness lecture on the use of the Central Financial Systems for the Government Funded Organizations (GFO). The lecture was organized by the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership, as requested by the university’s Financial Resources Directorate and in coordination with the Systems Development Directorate at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy.
Sarah Abdulhussain Al-Attar, Senior Project Management Specialist at the Systems Development Directorate, introduced participants to the “GFO”, outlining the regulatory procedures for procurement processes in government entities and the Ministry’s supervisory role in this regard.
She also explained the different types of procurement requests within government institutions and conducted an interactive training session on how to prepare procurement lists and enter them into the budget management system.
Al-Attar noted that in certain cases, and when necessary, coordination with the Ministry of Finance and National Economy is carried out to request technical support and assistance. This ensures that all tasks are carried out in accordance with approved government procedures, maintaining the accuracy and smooth flow of operations
