Workshops and Events of the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research for 2023-2024
In 2023–2024, the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research organized a diverse range of open and free workshops, forums, and training sessions accessible to the public. These events, held both on campus and online, supported knowledge exchange and lifelong learning across academic and professional fields. Through inclusive participation opportunities for students, faculty, and community members, the University of Bahrain strengthened its role as a hub for continuous education and public engagement in research and innovation.

University of Bahrain Enhances Digital Learning through Huawei ICT Academy Partnership
The University of Bahrain (UoB) continues to enhance its teaching and learning ecosystem through global partnerships that connect academic education with real-world industry expertise. Within this framework, the College of Information Technology, led by Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, recognized more than 88 students who successfully completed professional certifications through the Huawei ICT Academy in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fifth-generation (5G) networks, and digital data technologies.
This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to preparing students for the future of work by integrating advanced technical training into its academic programs. The collaboration with Huawei provides access to specialized learning resources, professional development opportunities for faculty, and modern laboratory facilities that simulate real industry environments.
By fostering digital innovation and equipping graduates with essential technological and problem-solving skills, the University of Bahrain reinforces its role as a leader in providing high-quality, future-oriented education. University of Bahrain and Royal University for Women Collaboration
The University of Bahrain (UoB) and the Royal University for Women (RUW) have signed a comprehensive collaboration agreement to enhance academic, research, and cultural cooperation between the two institutions. The signing, attended by Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, and Dr. Riyad Yousef Hamzah, President of RUW, reflects a shared vision for advancing the quality and inclusiveness of higher education in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The partnership promotes the exchange of faculty expertise, enabling academic staff from both universities to contribute to a wider range of teaching programs while maintaining high academic standards. It also includes cooperation in joint research, external examination of academic programs, professional development, and training workshops for both academic and administrative personnel.
Beyond academics, the agreement encourages student engagement through shared cultural, artistic, and sports activities organized by the deanships of student affairs. These initiatives aim to nurture creativity, leadership, and community spirit while supporting the holistic development of students.

University of Bahrain Achieves AACSB International Accreditation for Business Programs
The College of Business Administration at the University of Bahrain has achieved a major milestone by earning international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB); a recognition held by only a select group of leading business schools worldwide. This distinction affirms the college’s dedication to academic rigor, continuous improvement, and the delivery of globally competitive education.
All six undergraduate and postgraduate programs; including Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Management, Marketing, Islamic Banking and Finance, and the MBA, have been accredited, confirming their alignment with the highest international standards.
The accreditation underscores the University of Bahrain’s commitment to quality education and global competitiveness, while ensuring its graduates are well-prepared to meet the evolving needs of local and international markets. It also reflects the institution’s role in advancing national aspirations for excellence, innovation, and leadership in higher education.

Promoting Excellence in Digital Learning
The University of Bahrain continues to strengthen its culture of innovation and excellence in digital education through the eLearning Excellence Awards, organized by the University’s eLearning Center. The initiative celebrates faculty and students who demonstrate exceptional creativity, engagement, and effectiveness in online learning environments.
Each award cycle recognizes outstanding contributions to the design and delivery of digital courses, with submissions evaluated by an independent jury. Honorees are commended by the University President, reflecting the institution’s appreciation for innovative teaching practices and dedication to quality learning.
Through this initiative, the University fosters a dynamic environment that encourages professional growth, continuous improvement in online pedagogy, and the creative use of educational technology. The program also contributes to strengthening the university’s internal culture of recognition and motivation, supporting a system where technology-enhanced learning becomes a core part of academic excellence.

Advancing Teacher Education through International Collaboration
In strengthening teacher preparation and professional development, the University of Bahrain expanded its international collaboration with leading global institutions.
In September 2023, the President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, received a delegation from Boston University (USA), headed by Professor Dr. Lisa Ijiri, Senior Advisor at the Wheelock College of Education, in the presence of Dr. Lucy Bailey, Dean of the Bahrain Teachers College (BTC).
This visit reaffirmed the successful partnership between BTC and Boston University in implementing the Master’s Program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, jointly delivered through the Wheelock College of Education and Human Development.
The program—launched under a cooperation agreement signed in April 2022, targets school leaders and education professionals, equipping them with advanced skills in leadership, pedagogy, and policy analysis to enhance school performance and educational quality in Bahrain.
Dr. Al-Ansari praised the constructive collaboration and emphasized the university’s commitment to expanding such partnerships to other colleges, reinforcing UoB’s role in building educational capacity and contributing to national development through qualified educators.

Advancing STEM Education and Global Competence through CERN Collaboration
Students from the University of Bahrain (UoB) participated in the 2025 CERN Summer Student Program in Switzerland—an international initiative that offers advanced scientific training and exposure to leading research environments. The University has been part of this distinguished program since 2016, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and global collaboration.
The 2025 participants, Nibras Jafil from the College of Science and Ali Ridha Al-Adraj from the College of Engineering, engaged in specialized research and technical projects at CERN. Nibras collaborated with CERN’s IT Department and LHCb experiment to develop an AI-based chatbot supporting knowledge exchange in particle physics and participated in a scientific hackathon focused on applying quantum computing to real-world challenges. Ali contributed to a civil engineering project, completing radiation-safety training, producing 2D and 3D design layouts, and addressing on-site engineering challenges using advanced modeling tools.
Through continued participation in this global initiative, the University of Bahrain enhances its students’ research capacity, technical proficiency, and professional readiness while strengthening its international partnerships and promoting a culture of innovation, experiential learning, and knowledge exchange.

University of Bahrain and Shanghai University Cooperation
The University of Bahrain (UoB) and Shanghai University have signed a Memorandum of Cultural Understanding aimed at enhancing academic collaboration, student exchange, and joint research across a range of scientific and educational disciplines.
This partnership reflects UoB’s ongoing efforts to expand international engagement and promote intercultural learning as a cornerstone of its educational mission. It builds on the long-standing success of the Confucius Institute at the University, which continues to play a key role in teaching the Chinese language and fostering understanding of Chinese history, traditions, and culture within the Bahraini academic community.
Through this collaboration, the University reinforces its commitment to inclusive and high-quality education that transcends borders, providing students and faculty with opportunities for global learning, professional development, and cross-cultural dialogue. The agreement further underscores UoB’s dedication to fostering a globally connected academic environment that supports Bahrain’s vision of becoming a regional hub for education, research, and international cooperation.

University of Bahrain Celebrates the Graduation of its 26th Batch and 13th Batch of Bahrain Teachers College
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the University of Bahrain (UoB) celebrated the graduation of its 26th batch, honoring 3,500 graduates from various colleges and disciplines. The ceremony, held at the University’s Sakhir campus, was attended by government officials, academics, and families, reflecting national recognition of UoB’s role in advancing higher education.
H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, President of UoB, emphasized that students are at the core of the educational process, highlighting the University’s success in equipping them with scientific, technical, and personal skills needed for competitiveness in modern knowledge fields.
The graduation ceremony represents a key milestone in Quality Education, showcasing the University’s achievements in teaching and learning excellence, student success, and lifelong learning pathways. University of Bahrain Launches Huawei ICT Academy to Empower Digital Talent
The University of Bahrain (UoB) inaugurated the Huawei ICT Academy at the College of Information Technology, Sakhir campus, as part of its mission to advance digital education and innovation in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education.
The launch ceremony was attended by Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, President of UoB, and Aziz Tang, CEO of Huawei Bahrain, under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of UoB’s Board of Trustees. The academy aims to train 600 students annually in critical information and communication technology (ICT) disciplines, equipping them with hands-on, industry-relevant skills in cloud computing, networking, IoT, cybersecurity, AI, and machine learning.
This partnership underscores the University’s commitment to bridging academia and industry, preparing students for the digital economy, and enhancing employability. The initiative also celebrates the achievements of UoB students who secured second place regionally in the Huawei ICT Competition, advancing to represent Bahrain in the global finals in Shenzhen, China.
The University of Bahrain is expanding access to quality technical education, enhancing employability, and strengthening institutional capacity through international cooperation.


University of Bahrain Nursing Students Win Best Presentation Award for AI-Driven Health and Safety Innovation
Students from the Department of Nursing at the College of Health and Sports Sciences, University of Bahrain (UoB), won the Best University-Level Presentation Award during Health, Safety, and Environment Week, organized by Bapco Gas Company in Sakhir from November 24–28, 2024.
The students presented an innovative proposal for an electronic application titled “SANAD”, designed to promote workplace health and safety through the use of artificial intelligence technologies. The proposed app monitors workers’ environments and provides proactive alerts to prevent health risks, aligning with the principles of preventive healthcare and sustainable workplace safety.
This achievement showcases UoB’s success in fostering experiential learning, innovation, and applied research among its students. It reflects the University’s dedication to Quality Education by equipping learners with digital, professional, and problem-solving skills, while also promoting the values of sustainability, health, and well-being.
The UoB enhances the teaching and learning environment and prepares students to become innovative professionals capable of addressing real-world challenges with creative, technology-driven solutions.

University Awards for Student Innovation and Internship Excellence
The University of Bahrain won three prestigious awards at the Global Exhibition for Excellence in Higher Education (GHEDEX), Bahrain 2024, held on 21–22 April 2024 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center. The university was recognized for:

These awards reflect UoB’s ongoing commitment to empowering students, fostering creativity, and enhancing practical skills across multiple academic programs. The recognition highlights the integration of innovative practices, applied learning, and student-led projects, strengthening the link between academic knowledge, professional readiness, and lifelong learning opportunities.

Integrating Cultural Identity and Sustainable Values into University Education
As part of its mission to strengthen Bahrain’s authentic cultural and ethical foundations, the Department of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies at the University of Bahrain developed a comprehensive university textbook titled “Landmarks in Islamic Culture.” Authored by a team of distinguished faculty members, the textbook provides an academic framework that explores modern challenges through the lens of Islamic culture and values.
The book adopts an integrated approach, covering key topics such as interfaith dialogue and tolerance, family values, ethical economic practices, environmental responsibility, social justice, and peacebuilding. It also addresses women’s rights within the Islamic framework and the importance of community development and moral integrity in contemporary society.
What makes this initiative particularly impactful is that the course is mandatory for all University of Bahrain students, ensuring that every graduate gains exposure to Bahrain’s moderate and inclusive interpretation of Islamic culture. This approach strengthens students’ understanding of how faith-based values can coexist with the principles of modern development, sustainability, and civic responsibility.
Through this initiative, the University of Bahrain integrates cultural awareness, ethical reflection, and responsible citizenship into higher education, nurturing graduates who embody both academic excellence and social consciousness.
