Overview
In the academic year 2023–2024, the University of Bahrain exhibited strong gender equity in student access and success, consistent with SDG 5: Gender Equality, Indicator 5.3.1.
- Women represented over 55 % of applicants across semesters, demonstrating equitable access to higher education opportunities.
- Women accounted for approximately 66 % of total enrollments, indicating favorable acceptance and sustained participation.
- Among graduates, women consistently outnumbered men in both semesters (64–68 %), reflecting successful academic progression and institutional support for women’s advancement.
These outcomes affirm the University’s ongoing commitment to providing equal access, participation, and achievement for all genders, supporting the national and global objectives of SDG 5 in higher education.
