UOB Media Students Experience Abdullah Al Zayed’s Press Heritage

UOB Media students viewed Abdullah Al Zayed ‘s journalistic experience during a visit to Abdullah Al Zayed House For Bahraini Press Heritage.

Waleed Khaled Alshaikh, a lecturer in the Department of Media, Tourism, and Arts, said the visit aimed to connect historical and theoretical concepts with their tangible and intangible manifestations at Al Zayed’s House. He emphasized that the Zayed’s House stood for over a century as a witness to the birth of Bahraini press, the publication of Al Bahrain newspaper in 1939 the region’s first scientific, literary, and political newspaper.

The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of various aspects of Abdullah Al Zayed’s life and character, and his dedication to the development of Bahrain’s press and media industry. Through his professional contributions, Al Zayed has played a pivotal role in educating Bahrainis and keeping them informed, empowering them to become active and engaged members of society over the past decades.

During the visit, students captured their insights and impressions as they prepared written and graphic reports. and toured the house, gaining valuable knowledge on Abdullah Al Zayed’s pivotal role in preserving Bahrain’s journalistic heritage.
