UOB Explores Enhancing Water Flow and Resource Sustainability
A number of professors, specialists, and experts explored ways to enhance water flow, contributing to improved water-use efficiency in the industrial and agricultural sectors, during a workshop organized by the University of Bahrain’s College of Engineering.
This workshop is part of a project initiative proposed by a team of university professors. The project aims to protect water resources in the Kingdom of Bahrain by developing technical and institutional capabilities and supporting the application of efficient and sustainable practices in water management and use. The workshop also falls within the framework of an agreement signed between the University of Bahrain and the Supreme Council for Environment to implement a nationally-executed project funded by the Green Climate Fund. This project aims to promote water auditing in factories and farms across the Kingdom to address climate change challenges.
The College of Engineering hosted several representatives from relevant national entities, including the Ministry of Works, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Electricity and Water Authority, and the Supreme Council for Environment.
The project team for protecting water resources in the Kingdom of Bahrain consists of Dr. Abrar Habib (Team Leader), along with members Dr. Zainab Ali, Dr. Najeeb Ghalib, and Dr. Raed Al Jowder.
