UOB Holds Social Media Campaign for Media Students
The Department of Media, Tourism, and Arts at the University of Bahrain’s College of Arts organized a campaign to promote Instagram accounts for students enrolled in the Social Media course (MCO356).
Held on a semesterly basis, the campaign aims to help students apply theoretical concepts in a practical setting, develop their communication and persuasion skills, and enhance their abilities in teamwork and media planning. It also seeks to equip them with essential digital content management skills.
The campaign, which introduces students to various social issues for promotion, further aimed to raise their awareness of societal matters, encourage productive and positive dialogue, and motivate them to engage with their community. An additional goal was to bolster the image of the university student as a positive influencer. The campaign encouraged media students to experiment with new tools and strategies in digital campaigns and to innovate novel methods for promoting meaningful content, while also measuring the impact of that digital content on the audience.
The campaign was supervised by the course instructor, Ms. Maryam Anwar Ahmed Bukamal, a lecturer at the University’s Department of Media.
