UOB Academics Discuss Effective Teaching Strategies

An interactive workshop for faculty members at the University of Bahrain was held on Tuesday (April 15, 2025), titled “Effective Classroom Management Strategies in Higher Education.” The workshop highlighted that successful classroom management places students at the center of the educational process, ensuring an environment that fosters learning and participation. It stressed that these strategies and skills are vital for all teachers, including those recognized for teaching excellence, as they form the foundation for a productive and positive learning experience.

The workshop aimed to equip teachers with key classroom management strategies to: promote a positive, engaging, and organized learning environment, address behavioral challenges effectively, strengthen student-teacher relationships, encourage self-reflection and continuous improvement in teaching practices, help faculty adapt their management styles to diverse learning contexts, and develop tailored action plans for successful classroom learning.

Dr. Anamica Jiwane and Dr. Nazish Abid, professors at the University of Bahrain’s College of Engineering, facilitated the workshop, organized by the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership (UTEL).
