University of Bahrain Secures First and Second Places at Benefit Advanced AI Lab Hackathon 2024
The University of Bahrain (UOB) secured both first and second places at the Benefit Advanced AI Lab Hackathon 2024, held from 5 to 8 February 2024, and organized by the College of Information Technology in collaboration with Benefit Bahrain.
First place was awarded to Shakeel Mohammad and Abdulqader Abdulhaq for their project LawGPT, an innovative AI model providing accurate and reliable information on Bahraini laws, demonstrating the practical application of AI in legal research and analysis.
Second place went to Fatima Al Marbati and Aqeel Nazim for an outstanding AI-driven project addressing real-world challenges with creativity and technical excellence.
The hackathon encourages students to apply Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Machine Learning to develop innovative solutions for challenges in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Participants built their projects using the Benefit AI High Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster, gaining hands-on experience with advanced AI infrastructure.
The winners were honored during a ceremony on 10 March 2025 at the University of Bahrain, highlighting the university’s leadership in AI education, commitment to innovation, and its role in empowering students to deliver impactful, future-ready solutions.
