Graduation Projects Exhibition for the second semester UOB Architecture and Desigh students develop sustainable and innovative architecturl solutions to preserve the environment, identity and culture

Students of the Department of Architecture and Interior Design at the College of Engineering at the University of Bahrain developed a number of projects in sustainable architecture and innovative design to preserve the environment, identity, and culture, at the graduation projects exhibition for the second semester of the academic year 2024/2025, organized by the college on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the university’s headquarters in Sakhir.
‏The students focused on cultural and educational projects such as libraries and museums, rehabilitation projects, and recreational projects such as hotels and resorts, in addition to a number of housing projects that addressed new ideas for housing challenges.
‏The exhibition showcased about 101 projects, prepared and designed by students in the following programs: Architecture, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture programs. The projects were characterized by keeping pace with the needs of society and rapid scientific development, using modern technologies.
‏Dr. Esra Ahmad Wali, Vice President of Partnerships and Development at the University of Bahrain, honored the projects that won the top three places for the best projects submitted in the three programs. Mr. Ahmed Salahuddin, Business Development Manager at Mohamed Salahuddin Consulting Engineering Bureau (MSCEB) presented the “Salahuddin Engineering Award” to the winning projects, in the presence of Shaikha Dr.Haifa Ebrahim Alkhalifa, Dean of the College of Engineering, and members of the college’s academic staff.
‏The projects were evaluated according to unified arbitration criteria by a committee composed of faculty members of the Department of Architecture and Design, in addition to a group of experienced residents in the architectural scene and arbitrators from prestigious universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
