University of Bahrain Welcomes a Visiting Delegation from Boston University

Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, received a visiting delegation from Boston University in the United States of America, headed by Dr. Penny Bishop, Dean of the Wheelock College of Education and Human Development. The visit comes as part of the delegation’s annual visit to the Mohammed Jaber Al-Ansari College for Teachers, within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between the two institutions for the implementation of the Master’s Program in Educational Leadership and the Master’s Program in Curriculum and Instruction.

The President of the University of Bahrain emphasized the importance of mutual visits and academic partnerships between the University of Bahrain and Boston University, highlighting their role in enhancing the quality of education and providing an advanced learning environment aligned with the needs and aspirations of the Bahraini labor market.

For their part, the visiting delegation commended the high academic standards of the programs offered by the Mohammed Jaber Al-Ansari College for Teachers, expressing their appreciation for the continued and fruitful partnership between Boston University and the University of Bahrain.

The two sides also discussed ways to support various student groups and address emerging educational challenges, particularly in light of the growing use of artificial intelligence applications in education. The delegation reviewed several experiences of the Wheelock College of Education and Human Development in promoting equity in educational and training opportunities and assessment, through professional academic programs, valuable research resources, and the preparation of the next generation of distinguished leaders and researchers.

The meeting was attended from the University of Bahrain by Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Lucy Bailey, Dean of the Mohammed Jaber Al-Ansari College for Teachers; and Dr. Masooma Ali Al-Mutawa, Head of the Department of Mathematics, Science, and IT at the College.
