Participants in the 6th International Conference on Data Analytics for Business and Industry (DATA’25) discussed the latest innovations, trends, practical challenges, and solutions in the field of data analysis across various sectors, in support of building a knowledge-based economy and establishing data as a key asset in decision-making.
The conference, organized by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the University of Bahrain, examined 115 scientific papers, including 38 papers authored by University of Bahrain researchers. These papers covered several topics, including big data, data mining and analytics, e-commerce, risk analysis, cloud computing, business analytics, pattern recognition, data science applications, image analysis and tomography, statistical and financial modeling, bioinformatics and health policy decision-making, and artificial intelligence for business and industry.
Held virtually over two days, Wednesday and Thursday, October 29-30, 2025, the conference was organized in collaboration with the Bahrain International Group (INFORMS) and with technical support from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
The conference featured several keynote speakers: Dr. Ali Hadi, Director of Graduate Studies and Research at the American University in Cairo, presented a lecture titled “A New Distance Between Multivariate Clusters of Varying Locations, Elliptical Shapes, and Directions.” Dr. Saeed Sharif, Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Computer Science at the University of East London, spoke about the Artificial Intelligence Innovations for Better Medical and Healthcare Solutions, and Dr. Risto Miikkulainen, a Professor of Computer Science and Neuroscience at the University of Texas at Austin, USA, presented a lecture titled “Neuroevolution: Harnessing Creativity in AI Agent Design.”
The conference also included a presentation on “Data Visualization Using Tableau and Real-Time Analytics for Business Decision-Making Using Stream Data Processing,” delivered by Master’s student in Big Data Science and Analysis, Naeema Alazemi.
Additionally, Dr. Sawsan Juma Hilal, Head of the Mathematics Department and Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Big Data Science and Analysis, provided an overview of the Bahrain International INFORMS Group, its systems, and its key activities.
The Data Analysis Conference serves as a scientific platform for exchanging ideas and developing skills among those interested in data science from various disciplines. It seeks to provide an opportunity for graduate students to share ideas, benefit from new methodologies, and discuss the latest innovations, trends, and practical challenges.
