University of Bahrain Presents the National Qualification Framework and its Updates
The University of Bahrain presented the key updates to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) on Thursday (23 April 2026) during a remote workshop held via Microsoft Teams, titled “The National Qualifications Framework: Updated Framework and Policies.” The workshop was organized by the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership, in collaboration with the University’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center (QAAC).
Attended by academics and administrators from the university, the session highlighted the main drivers behind a series of updates to the “NQF”, the policies governing it, the recent amendments to standards and indicators, as well as the subtle differences in the general policies for the processes of placing (leveling) and re-verifying qualifications previously placed on the national framework.
In addition, participants were introduced to the newly approved model, ratified by a Cabinet decision for the current year 2026, along with the new application submission system available through the Qualifications Management System (QMS) of the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA).
The workshop was presented by Shaikha Naser Al Kaabi, Head of the Quality Assurance and Academic Excellence Department at the University.
