University of Bahrain Trains Students on Building Investment Portfolios Using Python
University of Bahrain held a workshop titled “Introduction to Portfolio Construction and Financial Analysis Using Python” on Tuesday, 5 May 2026, organized by the Department of Economics and Finance at the College of Business Administration.
The workshop was delivered by Mr. Ali Awadh from NGN Training Center, who demonstrated how Python — particularly the pandas and yfinance libraries — can be used to access real-time financial market data and conduct basic financial analyses. He also highlighted the role of AI-assisted tools in financial work environments, explaining how they can enhance analytical efficiency and support better investment decision-making in portfolio construction.
The workshop aimed to equip students with practical, market-relevant skills by integrating programming, data analysis, and financial modeling. Students gained hands-on experience in handling real financial data, cleaning and exploring datasets, constructing and evaluating investment portfolios, and understanding the role of artificial intelligence in supporting financial decisions.
The session was moderated Dr. Daouia Chebab, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at the College of Business Administration.
