Academic and administrative staff from the University of Bahrain took part in an interactive online workshop titled “Time Management.” Organized by the university’s Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership (UTEL), the workshop was held remotely via Microsoft Teams on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
The workshop covered several key topics, including time management, the difference between being busy and being productive, self-management and its connection to time, and goal-setting as a starting point for managing time effectively. It also addressed SMART goals and how to formulate them clearly, avoiding vagueness, as well as how to set priorities effectively.
The session also discussed the Eisenhower Matrix, which categorizes tasks according to their importance and urgency to help determine work priorities, along with the Pareto Principle as it relates to task completion and time wasted during execution.
Participants learned about personal and organizational time wasters, key strategies for reducing time loss, the time management equation, and daily planning methods that help manage personal energy and channel it into suitable work.
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Dr. Hala Mohammed Hatoum, Assistant Professor of Administrative Programs at the college of Applied Studies at the University of Bahrain.
