University of Bahrain Introduces Staff to Data Analytics with Power BI 

The University of Bahrain organized an introductory workshop titled “Introduction to Power BI for Beginners” on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, with a number of academic and administrative staff members in attendance.

The workshop aimed to teach beginners the fundamentals of Microsoft Power BI. Participants were introduced to the Power BI interface and guided through basic data import and cleaning, creating simple visualizations, building interactive dashboards, and sharing reports. By the end of the session, attendees had gained a foundational understanding of how Power BI can be used to analyze data and present insights effectively.

The session was presented by Dr. Mourad Messaadia from the Department of Economics and Finance at the college of Business Administration, UOB.

The workshop was offered by the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership at the University of Bahrain as part of a series of professional development workshops aimed at enhancing the technical skills of university staff.
