University of Bahrain Highlights Achievements of “Bahrainuna” National Plan and Its 18 Values of Citizenship

The University of Bahrain highlighted the national plan to strengthen national belonging and entrench the values of citizenship, “Bahrainuna,” in an introductory lecture held remotely via Microsoft Teams, under the title: “Bahrainuna… Together We Build the Future… Our Identity Lies in Our Values.”

The lecture, organized by the University’s College of Arts, addressed the efforts of the committee overseeing the implementation of the national plan to strengthen national belonging and entrench the values of citizenship, “Bahrainuna,” chaired by H.E. Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. The session reviewed the plan’s objectives and achievements since its establishment in March 2019.

The lecture highlighted that more than 100 initiatives have been implemented through community partnerships with around 80 entities from state institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations. Furthermore, the initiatives, programs, and events carried out have reached a 93% completion rate in their operational phases.

The lecture featured a detailed overview of the 18 national values underpinning the plan, distributed across four main pillars: the national pillar, which fosters loyalty, pride, and esteem; the social pillar, founded on tolerance, coexistence, and social responsibility; the political pillar, which entrenches the values of consultation, public participation, and dialogue; and finally, the humanitarian pillar, which emphasizes the values of justice, equality, and human rights.

The lecture also spotlighted flagship initiatives, including the “National Slogans” competition aimed at embedding the use of national slogans and icons, alongside events that strengthen social cohesion and highlight manifestations of national unity. These efforts align with the lofty royal vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to make citizenship values a fundamental pillar of the nation’s future.

The lecture was delivered by Hala Ahmed Sulaiman, Executive Director of the Office of the National Plan to Promote National Belonging and Reinforce the Values of Citizenship “Bahrainuna.”
