University of Bahrain President Receives Ambassador of the Republic of Korea

Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, received H.E. Mr. Choi Byung-sun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Bahrain, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, on the university campus in Sakhir. The meeting aimed to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation with international educational institutions.

Dr. Al-Ansari welcomed the Korean ambassador and praised the depth of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Korea. He also affirmed the university’s commitment to expanding academic and research collaboration with Korean universities and educational institutions, which would help develop educational programs and facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge.

During the meeting, both sides explored ways to enhance joint cooperation in higher education, scientific research, and innovation. They also discussed opportunities for student and faculty exchange, along with joint projects and programs designed to support academic excellence and human capacity development on both sides.

For his part, Ambassador Choi Byung-sun expressed his appreciation for the role played by the University of Bahrain in supporting scientific research and developing national talent. He affirmed his country’s interest in strengthening academic partnerships with the University and exploring opportunities for cooperation with Korean universities in a manner that serves mutual interests and enhances scientific and cultural exchange between the two countries.

Both parties emphasized the importance of continued communication and coordination to make the most of available opportunities and to build sustainable academic partnerships that help achieve shared developmental and educational goals.
