University of Bahrain Vice Presidents Praise the University’s Global Achievement in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026

The Vice Presidents of the University of Bahrain praised the university’s outstanding global achievement in securing 7th place worldwide in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026, outperforming more than 1,600 higher education institutions worldwide. The university also achieved 23rd place globally and 7th place among Arab universities in SDG 4: Quality Education.

Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, Vice President for Academic Affairs, stated that this achievement reflects the advanced position the University of Bahrain has attained in enhancing the quality of education and strengthening learning outcomes. She noted that the university’s distinguished global ranking in Quality Education demonstrates its commitment to providing inclusive and sustainable education, developing academic programs that align with national development priorities and labor market needs, and enhancing graduates’ competitiveness and capacity to contribute to Bahrain’s ongoing development and nation-building efforts.

For her part, Dr. Esra Ahmed Wali, Vice President for Partnerships and Development, affirmed that the University of Bahrain’s ranking among the world’s leading universities in partnerships for sustainable development goals serves as international recognition of the university’s success in establishing impactful institutional partnerships with international organizations and academic and research institutions. She added that these partnerships strengthen the university’s regional and international presence and support its role in transforming knowledge into sustainable developmental impact that serves society and advances national priorities.

Meanwhile, Shaikh Salman bin Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Director General of Administrative Services, emphasized that this global achievement reflects the efficiency of the university’s institutional ecosystem and its continuous efforts to provide an educational and administrative environment that supports excellence and sustainability. He noted that the development of administrative services and institutional infrastructure is a fundamental pillar in enabling the university to achieve its academic, research, and community objectives, while enhancing its competitiveness in prestigious global rankings.

The Vice Presidents affirmed that this achievement further strengthens the university’s international standing and serves as a motivation to continue working collaboratively to reinforce its position among distinguished global universities in education, scientific research, partnerships, and sustainable development. ‎
