University of Bahrain Delegation Visits Shanghai University, Hikvision, and Unitree in China

Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, visited Shanghai University, Hikvision, and Unitree in China from 30 June to 2 July 2026 to strengthen academic and technological cooperation.

He was accompanied by Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Professor Zhu Jian, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Bahrain.

The delegation discussed cooperation in academic programs, research, postgraduate studies, and student and faculty exchanges with officials at Shanghai University. It also held the annual Confucius Institute Board Meeting and met University of Bahrain students participating in a cultural program in Shanghai.

At Hikvision’s headquarters in Hangzhou, the delegation explored artificial intelligence and Internet of Things applications and discussed cooperation in smart campus development, digital administration, and professional training.

The delegation also visited “Unitree Robotics”, a leading Chinese robotics company, where they were briefed on its latest advanced technologies, with the aim of exploring the possibility of introducing robotics concepts and applications into select engineering disciplines at the University of Bahrain.
