UTEL Programs at the University of Bahrain Secure Renewal of International Accreditation

In line with the University of Bahrain’s ongoing pursuit of excellence in higher education, the programs of the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership (UTEL) have had their international accreditation renewed by Advance HE for their accredited professional programs, for the next five years, from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2031.

This achievement extends the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance education quality and professional development for academic staff, and to reinforce practices aligned with the Professional Standards Framework for higher education (PSF 2023).

The accreditation covers the following programs: the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program – Descriptors 1 and 2, the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP) – Descriptors 2, and the New to Teaching in Bahrain Program – Descriptor 1.

This accreditation followed months of comprehensive evaluation, during which the UTEL team developed programs and handbooks, reviewed systems, and ensured alignment with Advance HE’s standards.

This renewal contributes to consolidating the university’s position regionally and internationally and opens broader horizons for academic collaboration with leading educational institutions.
