University of Bahrain Advances 285 Positions in Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027

The University of Bahrain (UoB) has achieved a significant advancement in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, improving its global standing by 285 positions and securing a place in the 801-1000 band among the world’s leading universities.

This year’s THE World University Rankings assessed 2,297 universities from 118 countries, making it one of the most comprehensive and internationally recognized measures of university performance.

The result moved the University up a full band, from 1001-1200. The progress was balanced and comprehensive, as the University improved on all five ranking pillars:

Research Quality, Industry, Research Environment, International Outlook, and Teaching. Research Quality recorded the most notable gain, rising 343 places, which reflects a genuine improvement in the impact and excellence of the University’s research.

The result reflects the University’s continued efforts to strengthen academic excellence, enhance research quality and impact, expand international collaboration, and support innovation and knowledge creation in line with Bahrain’s national development priorities.

The progress is attributed to the dedication of faculty, researchers, students, and staff, and marks another step in the University’s journey of continuous improvement, strengthening its global competitiveness and its role as Bahrain’s national university in advancing knowledge, developing talent, and supporting sustainable development.

The University continues to implement strategic initiatives to strengthen its academic and research environment, build international partnerships, support innovation and entrepreneurship, and improve the student experience, in pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement and a greater contribution to addressing national and global challenges.
