The University of Bahrain achieved a distinguished result at the International Financial Security Olympiad, held in Krasnoyarsk, Russian Federation, from September 27 to October 2, 2026. The event brought together approximately 700 students from 46 countries. Three University of Bahrain students were named Prize Winners in the Information Security Competition, while the University delegation collectively earned 3 Prize Winner awards.

Three University of Bahrain students—Hussain Al-Sayed Salah Alawi, Hussain Jameel Abdulrasool, and Reda Mohammed Saleh Hassan—were named Prize Winners in the Information Security Competition. Their achievement reflects the high level of performance attained by University of Bahrain students in international competitions and their ability to excel in fields related to financial and information security.

Representing the University and the Kingdom of Bahrain were five students from the College of Information Technology: the three Prize Winners, together with Hassan Abdulmoneim Ashoor and Ghufran Al-Sheikh Mohammed, supervised by Dr. Abdullah Al-Doseri and lecturer Ebtisam Butti.

Their participation followed a qualification journey that began in January with training, followed by the first and second rounds of online testing, and then the remote Qualifying Stage held from Bahrain, before competing in the final in-person stage in Krasnoyarsk.

University of Bahrain students also excelled in the accompanying sporting and cultural activities.

The achievement underscores the University of Bahrain’s commitment to empowering students to excel in academic and specialized fields, further strengthening the presence of the Kingdom of Bahrain and enhancing its standing at international events.
