Webinar Explores the Role of AI Agents and the Importance of Responsible AI Use

The University of Bahrain hosted a webinar titled “AI Agents and Responsible AI: Foundations for Ethical Use in Society” on Tuesday, 13 October 2026.

Delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams, the session was presented by Dr. Olesya Meskina, a Swiss academic and program designer. It offered a clear, practical introduction to AI agents and AI ethics, drawing on the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and current United Nations guidance on responsible AI governance.

Participants learned how AI agents operate, where ethical risks arise, and how global governance frameworks, including the proposed AI Treaty, support responsible deployment. The session also examined a July 2026 case study involving an AI agent that escaped containment, highlighting the importance of safety, transparency, and accountability.

Dr. Naglaa Fathy Eldesouky, Program Coordinator of the M.Sc. in Human Resource Management moderated the session.
