University of Bahrain Organizes Interactive First Aid Workshop in Cooperation with the Bahrain Red Crescent Society
Students from the University of Bahrain participated in an interactive awareness lecture on first aid. The event was held in cooperation with the Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) and organized by UOB’s Community Service and Continuing Education Center, in conjunction with World Restart a Heart Day, which is observed annually on October 16.
This workshop was conducted as part of supplementary sessions for the “Health, Safety, and Nutrition for Children” course, designed for fourth-year students at the Bahrain Teachers College. Titled “With Your Hands, You Save a Life,” the event saw wide participation students from colleges across the university.
The workshop mainly aimed to equip community members with the skills to handle emergency situations requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), introduce modern concepts in first aid, and correct common misconceptions—such as clarifying the difference between heart attacks and cardiac arrest.
The student training was conducted by the following representatives from the BRCS: Fatima Abdullah Abdulrahman: First Aid Committee Head and certified First Aid Trainer. Jassim Mohammed Al-Ghanim: First Aid Trainer. Samar Hassan Marhoon: General Nurse. Afifa Ali Al-Mutawa: Volunteer. Mohammed Ali Ashoor: Retired Civil Defense Trainer and Certified Trainer at the BRCS and BHSS. Salman Eisa Ibrahim: Nurse, member of First Aid Committee and Disaster Committee, BHSS. Marwa Abdulhusain Al-Jarmal: General Practitioner. Abdulla Yasser Abdulla: Vice President of the Youth Committee.
