University of Bahrain Launches New Process for Approving Course Evaluation Types in SIS
The University of Bahrain held a workshop on Monday, 12 October 2026, titled “The Process for Reviewing and Approving Course Evaluation Types in the Student Information System (SIS).” Deans of colleges, heads of departments, and academic staff members took part.
Organized by the Competitiveness and Organizational Development Directorate, the workshop aimed to introduce the new process for reviewing and approving the type of evaluation survey assigned to each course through the SIS. It also clarified the procedures for reviewing the evaluation type set for each course, amending it where necessary, and having it approved by the relevant college or department.
The workshop walked participants through the steps for using the new SIS screen, the responsibilities involved in reviewing and approving data, and how to handle cases that require a change to the evaluation type. This strengthens the role of colleges and departments in verifying data accuracy before the course evaluation process begins.
The initiative is part of the University’s efforts to improve its course evaluation procedures and the accuracy of the related data. By allowing colleges and academic departments to review evaluation types and confirm that they suit the nature of each course, it helps make the evaluation process more efficient and ensures that the appropriate survey is applied to every course.
The workshop was presented by Hooreya Hasan Almadani, Acting Head of the Measurement and Evaluation Department at the University of Bahrain.
