University of Bahrain Takes Part in the Fourth Edition of the Al-Bilad Shield Award for Social Responsibility

Dr. Shaikha Fay bint Abdullah Al Khalifa, Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center at the University of Bahrain, took part in the fourth edition of the “Al-Bilad Shield for Corporate Social Responsibility” Award (2025 cycle). She participated as a member of both the Award’s organizing committee and its judging panel, and she also joined the panel discussion held on the sidelines of the ceremony, which highlighted the role of institutions in promoting sustainability and embedding the principles of social responsibility.

The awards ceremony for the fourth edition was held on Sunday, 21 September 2025. Sixty companies operating in the Kingdom of Bahrain competed for its awards, reflecting the growing institutional commitment to social responsibility and the rising awareness of its importance in supporting the national development journey.

This participation is in line with the University’s mission of community service and reflects its approach to activating the role of its members, both academic and administrative staff, in offering their expertise, knowledge, and specialized services to the local community. It also reflects the University’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 17, “Partnerships for the Goals,” which stresses the importance of effective partnerships among academic institutions, the public and private sectors, and civil society organizations, as well as the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and resources, and the building of partnerships grounded in trust and sustainable cooperation.

The University’s involvement in the Award’s committees, its judging, and its dialogue events contributes to the indicators associated with this goal. These include strengthening multi-stakeholder partnerships, exchanging institutional knowledge and expertise, supporting private-sector initiatives with a societal impact, and encouraging responsible practices that serve the Kingdom of Bahrain’s sustainable development priorities.
