Accounting Students Explore Applications of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

The Department of Accounting at the College of Business Administration, University of Bahrain, hosted a seminar titled: “Applying IFRS: Insights from the Field”.

 

Mr. Qassim Redha, Senior Manager of Audit and Advisory at KPMG Bahrain, presented the seminar, bridging theory and practice in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) especially IFRS 15 – Revenue for Contracts with Customers, through a case study of a telecommunication company. He reviewed the key concepts in IFRS 15 and explained that IFRS 15 aims to recognize revenue and provides a comprehensive revenue recognition model for all contracts with customers.
