AIChE UOB Hosts Expert Talk on Clean Fuels and Global Decarbonization

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Student Chapter at the University of Bahrain organized an educational talk titled “Clean Fuels and Decarbonization: An Overview and Global Scenarios” on 5 November 2025 at the University of Bahrain’s Isa Town Campus.

The session was delivered by Dr. Sai P. Katikaneni, Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at BITS Pilani, Dubai, who shared valuable insights into the future of clean fuels and global decarbonization pathways. The presentation examined emerging trends in sustainable energy, low-carbon technologies, and the challenges and opportunities associated with transitioning toward a cleaner and more resilient energy future.

Students and faculty members gained a deeper understanding of global efforts to reduce carbon emissions, advance clean fuel technologies, and support sustainable industrial development. The session also highlighted the critical role of innovation, research, and engineering solutions in achieving international climate and energy goals.

The event provided a platform for knowledge exchange and discussion on the evolving energy landscape, enabling students to engage with current industry developments and explore future opportunities in energy sustainability and decarbonization.

The initiative reflects AIChE UOB’s commitment to enriching students’ academic and professional development through engagement with international experts and contemporary topics shaping the future of the chemical and energy industries.
