Benefit AI Lab Steering Committee Reviews Lab Usage Rates

 

The Steering Committee of the Benefit Advanced AI and Computing Lab at the University of Bahrain reviewed the lab’s utilization rates. During the regular meeting, chaired by the Dean of the College of Information Technology, Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, the committee discussed the Benefit Advanced AI Lab Hackathon applications scheduled for the end of 2025, the annual Benefit Research Award for students and researchers, and ways to enhance cooperation between the university and the public and private sectors to maximize the lab’s capabilities.

 

The committee reported that 752 undergraduate and postgraduate students and researchers used the lab last semester for various courses, master’s and doctoral theses, and other research projects. The lab also hosted specialized workshops with NVIDIA Deep Learning, through which 80 students earned NVIDIA-accredited certificates in artificial intelligence and supercomputing.

 

The Benefit Advanced AI and Computing Lab at the University of Bahrain provides advanced computing services for undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, and training courses across various fields. It is the result of a strategic partnership and shared vision between the University of Bahrain and Benefit, serving as a vital national resource to advance artificial intelligence and high-performance computing capabilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Steering Committee at UOB oversees the lab’s operational plan, achievements, events, activities, and future directions.
