Community Health Outreach: Educating UOB Students on AIDS

The College of Health and Sports Sciences at the University of Bahrain organized an awareness lecture about “Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS)” in cooperation with the Health Promotion Department at the Ministry of Health. The lecture aimed to raise health awareness among students, correct misconceptions about HIV, promote early testing and prevention, and reduce the social stigma surrounding the disease.
Zainab Abdali Muhammad Hassan, a specialist from the Health Promotion Department, delivered the lecture. She highlighted the importance of early testing among youth, and methods of prevention of AIDS. She also stressed the importance of community support for AIDS patients, as it plays a vital role in their psychological and medical well-being, improving their chances of recovery.
This event was part of the new study team’s initiatives at the ministry to focus on youth health. It also reflects the university’s commitment to community service by spreading health awareness and strengthening partnerships with national institutions.
